fun in the snow

The kids were so excited when it begun to snow...While i was dressing the older two the little one snuck out from the front door, walked around the house and up the deck, banging on the glass door - by the time i got to him, he was freezing and shivering! Ah, the pure magic of snow was irresistible.


one can have tons of fun on snow days - making snow angel,building an igloo or having a snow ball fight or simply make a sleigh out of a big cardboard!
(Stick out your tongue to catch the falling flakes? Done that. Grab a few bowls full of snow to make ice kacang? Done that too! The most wonderful thing of all was examines every single flake that was caught in the palm of your hands/gloves, and no flake was identical...)

first autumn in the midwest

Autumn with its crisp air and the brilliant color against the blue skies made our first few weeks of adjustment to this new land a very pleasant exprence. Jumping into a big pile of leaves was a new fun thing to do! We also go gaga over the hot air ballons and waved excitedly whenever we spoted one!

tornado touched down!

we were still trying to get over the jetlag when the tornado touched down 5-10 miles from our town.
we slept through the siren and woke up with a broken window in the hall and a tent caught in the tree at the backyard. It was scary for one who came from a tiny tropical island that was very much sheltered from all the natural disaster...

when we first arrived

Everything seems huge here! We grabbed a quick bite at Mac and go "WOW" with the super size fries and drinks! BEST of all: the free refill!
